Carolina Panthers fans can you believe that we are 2-0? Is
your fantasy football team 2-0? If not, you need to change what you’re doing. In
order to be successful in fantasy football you need to active. Being active
means being the first person to pickup those players that are hot and getting
rid of those players that are cold. As the season rolls along you will be able
to figure out which players are going to have a good year, breakout year or who
you should cut. You will be able to establish this by paying attention their
average point total.
I have been unfortunate in some of my leagues because of all
of the injuries. I have Doug Martin and Andre Ellington in one of my leagues,
and I don’t know if they will ever be 100% healthy. But, I was quick enough to
pickup Bobby Rainey and Terrance West to fill the void.
Let’s talk about week my week three Carolina Panther projections….
My Week
Three Projections:
- Cam Newton: 20 pts (250 passing yards, 20 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns)
- Kelvin Benjamin: 13 pts (70 yards, 1 Touchdown)
- DeAngelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart: 15 pts (90 yards, 1 Touchdown)
- Mike Tolbert: 6 pts (1 touchdown, or 60 yards)
- Greg Olsen: 10 pts (40 yards, 1 Touchdown)
- Panthers Defense: 12 pts
My week
three recommendations:
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense is strong against the pass
but week against the run. The Panthers should have a successful week at running
the ball but the offensive line is still weak. It is still a gamble to play the
running backs but it could pay off. I would start the Panthers defense, Cam Newtown, and Greg Olsen
this week. Benjamin will be a strong play as the season goes on.
What
were my week two fantasy football projections?
- Cam Newton: 27 pts (275 Yards, 2 Passing Touchdowns, 20 rushing yards, 1 Touchdown)
- Kelvin Benjamin: 16 pts (105 yards, 1 Touchdown)
- DeAngelo Williams: 7 pts (75 yards)
- Mike Tolbert: 8 pts ( 20 yards, 1 Touchdown)
- Greg Olsen: 15 pts (95 yards, 1 Touchdown)
Week Two Results (According to ESPN):
- Cam Newton: 18 pts (281 Yards, 1 Touchdown)
- Kelvin Benjamin: 4 pts (2 receptions, 46 yards)
- DeAngelo Williams: DNP
- Mike Tolbert: 3 pts
- Greg Olsen: 7 pts (6 receptions, 72 yards)
Week Two Review:
My fantasy football projections last week were not very
accurate. It was Cam Newton’s first game back and the Panthers played it safe.
Newton only had 1 touchdown and only 19 rushing yards. As the season goes on I
see Newton running the ball a lot more, and being more consistent with this arm.
Creating chemistry with the wide receivers is critical to Newton’s fantasy
value. Kelvin Benjamin had trouble catching the ball and it is going to happen
because he is a rookie. D-Will did not play, so Stewart stepped up and the
Panthers could still not run the football, and I don’t know if that will ever
change.

you pickup this week?
