Why Sam Mills Inspires Me To Name My Fantasy Division After Him

I am so proud to be a part of the C3 Fantasy Football Challenge.  Not only is this going to be  an incredible amount of fun, but I'm also proud to point out that a portion of the entry fees are going to help fight cancer.  We've all been touched by the disease in some form or fashion.  We are also giving away Panther Prizes including a Benjamin Jersey, a DeAngelo Williams signed mini-helmet (already awarded to Jason Saulter!) and weekly panther prizes to the high-scorer in this four division 48-team Fantasy Football Battle Royale.  It is going to be a blast talking smack with fellow Panther Fans throughout the season.

Why Rucker I Selected Rucker as C3 Fantasy Football League

I met and interviewed Mike Rucker during the regular season last year, and he's one of the nicest guys you could ever ask to meet. He was participating in the Play-60 program and having fun with the kids - that's a sign of a real stand-up guy. Helping children. The other reason is - and I asked him specifically about this - he played opposite of Julius Peppers in his prime. I asked Mike if it mattered to him that one guy was getting all the attention and limelight while he (Mike Rucker) was virtually ignored. His answer was very professional: It didn't matter so long as we won. He said his job was to do whatever he was asked to do and he did it as well as he could every single down. I also learned that the most difficult offensive lineman for him to solve was New Orleans' Willie Roaf....who has just launched into the NFL Hall of Fame if I'm not mistaken.

For Fantasy Shame or Glory?

Fantasy Football is fun. The intense moments, thrilling wins, devastating losses, and tough decisions make for a interesting and multifaceted competition.  It makes football more enjoyable to watch, it makes being a fan more involved, and it makes all the games  matter.  There's a reason it has become so popular and ubiquitous, and one rapidly growing aspect of the game that exemplifies all of these qualities is the "Shame Bet."

Argument for Single RB Fantasy Leagues

Fantasy Football has had a massive spike in popularity in recent years, and the game has been evolving quickly.  The NFL has put less emphasis on workhorse running backs, and committees have become the new norm.  In response to this, Points Per Reception (PPR) leagues have become more and more common, and many people, including myself, feel that it is a more balanced scoring system.  But in order to form a more perfect scoring system, the cool new thing in fantasy is the Single Running Back, Two Flex, PPR league, like the one here at Carolina Cat Chronicles.
