Pick Another Toy For Cam in Round 4!

Don't Mock the Draft, Decide It RD 4!

So far, PantherNation has selected Mach 7 Brandin Cooks in Rd 1, Hog-Molly Jack Mewhort in Rd 2 and top-flight Corner Pierre Desire in Rd 3.  Now you have spoken again and overwhelmingly want another toy for Cam to play with on Sundays.  Taking a look at the current roster, Cooks provides the deep threat and home run capability, Cotchery and Avant provide the steady and experienced veterans that will teach the young guys how to be Professionals.  Now we need a guy that can grow with Cam that can be that go-to guy in terms of being able to convert on third down and can grow along with Cooks and Cam.

This year’s WR Draft class is the deepest in recent memory.  Take a look at the below five quality candidates that we can nab in the 4th RD.  All would look good in Carolina Black & Blue.  So who’s it going to be?  It is highly doubtful that the Panthers take three Wide Receivers so make this vote count.

1.      Michael Campanaro-  This “Backyard Baller” out of Wake Forest reminds this analyst a lot of Wes Welker.  Camp once caught 16 passes in a single game and would complement Cooks, Avant and Cotchery nicely as he brings a different dimension.  He has been worked out by the Panthers and is going to be interviewed live on this website on Monday April 14th at 10:00 PM EST.  Tune in and learn more. For now, watch this and “Camp out with Campanaro:”

2.    Robert Herron- This Wyoming standout would also be a nice complement to the Panthers Offense.  I love the way he gets off the line of scrimmage which is an underrated trait.  He had 932 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2013.  At 5’9, 193 lbs., is he the size we need considering we also have Cooks?  Herron has also been worked out by the Panthers and WR Coach Ricky Proehl favorited my tweet regarding how good this young man is at getting off the line of scrimmage.  Take a look at this exciting option:

3.    Devin Street- This Pitt standout has great size at 6’3 210 lbs, runs a 4.5 40 and ran the complete route tree at Pitt.  He earned third-team All-ACC  Honors while catching 51 passes for 854 yards.  He would be a nice reliable and big target in the Red Zone for Cam.  Watch this young man’s great playmaking ability

4.    Cody Latimer- This young man out of Indiana is shooting up draft boards of late after fully recovering from foot-surgery.  He has also recently met with the Panthers.  He is another Receiver with great size at 6’3, 215 lbs.  But different than the others, he recently ran an incredible 4.38 40 and is strong enough to break press coverage.  Check out this man’s incredible hands (embed

5.     Josh Huff-  You may not know this name, but this Oregon standout caught 11 TDs and 1,093 yards this past year.  He has extremely reliable hands and is a good blocker as well at 5’11 201 lbs.  He would also be a very nice complement to Cooks.  One word of caution is he did not run a sophisticated route-tree in Oregon’s offense.  But check out his profile here: Huff and puff and blow your house down!

Now you know your options PantherNation.  This will be your last WR choice so make it a good one.  Who do you think best compliments the current starting three of Cooks, Avant, and Cotchery?  Make your voice heard and vote.  And follow me at @PanthersDrafter for ongoing conversations
